Many bloggers on the internet [and perhaps many people out there] has lauded the appointment of Cardinal Antonio Canizeres Llovera, currently Archbishop of Toledo, Spain, as replacement of Cardinal Arinze who resigned because of age from the Congregation of Divine Worhsip and the Sacraments. Personally I know little about Cardinal Antonio Canizeres Llovera, but as I have gleaned from comments in the blogs, the Cardinal is known in Spain as "Little Ratzinger" because of the similarity of his ideas with that of the current reigning Pope. As a Cardinal he has celebrated the traditional Latin Mass publicly and ordained priests for the Institute of Christ the King. We certainly hope and pray that with the appointment of this new prefect that the Pope's program of reforming the "reformed" in the liturgy and the sacraments will continue and progress. May the Lord give him the strength and grace to do the work as they labour in the vineyard of the Lord. Let us pray hard for the Pope and his ministry of uniting all Christians and promoting the correct and dignified worship of God in the Liturgy.
