Our Guardian Angels

Collect: "O God who in Thine ineffable Providence has deigned to send Thy holy Angels to keep watch over us: grant us thy suppliant people, that we may always be defended by their protection and may rejoice in their fellowship forever. Through our Lord Jesus Christ Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity..."

October 1 Celebrates the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels.

I cannot let this day pass without posting in the blog because I have a special love for my Guardian Angel. On many occasions I have sought his assistance even on temporal matters. For example while driving my car I often encounter problem with the engine and often I call on my guardian angel to help me fix it and he does the fixing for me many times.

God, Almighty is so good having redeemed us by the Blood of His Son, He has sent us His angels to keep watch over us and preserve us to eternal life. Amen.

Francesco Forgione took the name of Pio when he entered the Capuchin Order. He took the name Pio in honor of St. Pope Pius V, the patron saint of his hometown. Now celebrated as a Saint in the Catholic Church. In his last breath he uttered the word "Maria".

I am still here in Taipei, and we did visit yesterday one of the most impressive museum in Asia that I have been into. The vast collection and how well maintained are these is indeed impressive. This is a window to the ancient culture of China and the Asia.

An Impressive Monument

I have never updated this blog for sometime due to the many cares that I have. But right now I am on travel and I am in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. I would like to share with you some of the pictures that impressed me most. I took this pictures while rain was pouring over the square - the Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall. This monument complex is dedicated to perpetuate the memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai Shek who ruled Taiwan 27 years after he moved the ROC on Taiwan during the revolution. Though unsuccessful in his effort to regain the mainland from the hands of his "communist" rivals, he and his party was successful in bringing prosperity to the people of Taiwan and making the Su Yat Sen's three principles of the people as his guiding light.

On Sundays the corridors of the National Theater becomes the venue of dancers and those studying martial arts and various dances.

A 13 years old boy............. in 1983, but now I am a golden boy, gaining weight and wiser, but younger at heart. I consider myself as a “novus ordo baby” because I was born in the late 60s after the 2nd Vatican Council introduced the novus ordo missae and grew up confronted by the confusions as a result. Like my generation I never saw what the church was like prior to Vatican II, but I am a living witness to the gradual disappearance of religious traditions we hold dear. Young as I was then I could not understand what was going on. But I suffered the sense of loss as I saw how the modernizing influence in the church disfigured the liturgy and clouded the way we believe and practice our faith. But then being a child, powerless, not knowing what it was, and why it happened, I simply drifted into the sea of confusion, too young to understand. With a glimmer of faith in my heart, planted by baptism and confirmation, strengthened by the sound teachings of my parents and grandparents, I sailed into the sea of life, day after day, seeing the changes happen, feeling the sense of abandonment, yet God was merciful to me. In 2005 I discovered the Traditional Latin Mass or commonly known in the post-conciliar period as the Tridentine Mass. I began to love the rite of mass that has nourished my ancestors, the saints and the martyrs. I am eternally grateful to His Holiness Pope John Paul II for recognizing the rightful aspirations of Catholics attached to the ancient forms of the Roman Rite through his apostolic letter ECCLESIA DEI DI AFFLICTA. I am also eternally grateful to His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI for liberating the Traditional Latin Mass through his apostolic letter Summorum Pontificum. I fully agree with the program of his pontificate regarding the Hermeneutics of Continuity and disdain the hermeneutics of rupture. Today I consider myself a Traditional Roman Catholic attached to the liturgical discipline of 1962 as outlined in the Motu Proprio SUMMORUM PONTIFICUM of his Holiness. I believe that there is only one Roman Rite, the Ordinary and the Extraordinary and that the Mass in whatever form should be celebrated with dignity. My voyage is on. Join me in this quest.
